Analysis of Air Quality Influencing Factors in Eastern Cities of China
Abstract
Atmospheric pollution is the primary factor affecting air quality, and the management of air pollution is the key to improving air quality. In this paper, we analyze the extent to which air pollution indicators (NO$_2$), economic growth (GDP per capita), and public transportation (number of actual public buses operating at the end of the year) affect air quality in China. Based on a linear mixed-effects model, we evaluate and analyze air quality in the capital cities of 11 eastern provinces in China over the last five years (2015--2019). Finally, we present conclusions and recommendations. The annual average concentration of NO$_2$ is negatively correlated with air quality. GDP per capita and public bus/tram operations are positively correlated with air quality. Based on these findings, we advise strengthening environmental protection, improving factory pollution management
